NOTES

Horsetail Falls is located 2 3/4 miles east of Multnomah Falls on the Historic Columbia River Highway. From I-84 westbound take exit #35 Ainsworth and travel west on the Historic Highway. From I-84 eastbound take exit #28, Bridal Veil and travel approximately 6 miles east on the Historic Highway.

Horsetail Falls day-use picnic area offers three tables, parking area and a trailhead to the Horsetail Falls Trail #438 and the Gorge Trail #400. No restroom facilities, or potable water are located at this site.

Enjoy a short hike to Upper Horsetail Falls, also called Ponytail Falls, where the trail goes behind the base of the Falls. Horsetail Falls is a great spot just to stop and enjoy the beauty of the surrounding area.

FEES

There is no fee to use this park.

Horsetail Falls is named for its characteristic form and plunges 176 feet.
